RIGHTS OF WAY on PROPERTY FOR SALE in FRANCE
Property
If a property doesn't have easy access routes then the owner can invoke a law which obliges the owner of the property with the problem to allow a way through and if necessary construct a way through.
The rule is more often put in place in relation to properties under construction, or for agricultural or employment use.
Note
Due to Le Droit de Tour d'Echelle you have a right by law to access a neighbour's property if your own home is under maintenance. For example a ladder, or in certain cases erect scaffolding etc.
However you must have permission first.
Fishing and Shooting
Unless otherwise specified by agreement, no third party has the right to fish on a private stretch of water that runs through privately owned property.
On a public stream or lake it is different; you must acquire a fishing licence.
As a normal rule, no one can have shooting rights on a private property without the specific consent of the owner of the land.
You could get a year in prison and a 15,000 Euro fine for this.
