This is the French system of land registration. The title plans are called plans cadastrales, a graphical plan of the boundaries of land parcels in France.

Shown in the plans are numbered plots which are based on who owns which plot, it will show the buildings but details such as size and name and boundaries may be very slap dash or in some cases may not be there at all.

They are not a definitive statement of the legal boundaries of a property.

The cadastre can be contested.

If someone needs to find out the exact boundaries of a property or a plot is to be broken up into different ownerships, the process is known as bornage

If this happens a land survey must happen.

To view this cadastre you can go to the local maire, registry or visit your notaire. You can freely inspect the document.
